Hi guys! I am Tobé Frierson, a 2002 graduate of Erskine College. I am originally from Sumter, South Carolina, and I have been living in the upstate for almost 10 years now. This is a gorgeous part of South Carolina and Due West is the best small town in America. Attending Erskine College and now being able to serve in the Office of Admissions, has truly been a dream. At Erskine, you can receive a top-notch liberal arts education in a Christian environment. We are so excited that you are taking a closer look at us. When you get a chance to visit our campus, you will find me talking to our prospective students and their families about their opportunities at Erskine, attending our many cultural arts events and convocations, directing the Erskine College Gospel Choir, and cheering on our 14 varsity sports teams. I bleed maroon and gold. GO FLEET! I hope to see you on campus soon.
Hello! My name is Becky Bonser and I am an admissions counselor here at Erskine. I live in Due West after making the big move to the South from Cumberland, Maryland. I earned my Bachelor of Arts degrees in Communication Studies and Spanish from Frostburg State University and my Master of Arts in Communication Studies from West Chester University of Pennsylvania. While finishing my graduate degree, I worked in the career development center on campus and also at the local YMCA coaching youth soccer. Outside of work, I enjoy baking, sewing and spending time with family. I would love the opportunity to meet you and tell you more about the Christ-centered academic community we have at Erskine. It is truly a one-of-a-kind opportunity to become a student here. Let me help you get started!
Trey McCurry is a graduate of Clemson University, where he received a bachelor’s degree in sports administration (2007) and a master’s degree in human resource development (2010). After serving as a student equipment manager for the football team and then a graduate assistant in sports information, Trey returned to his native Honea Path and joined the admissions staff as Guest Coordinator. Outside work, you can find Trey spending time with his family at sporting events, reading, and staying busy with small projects.
Hey! I’m Tameika Wideman and I’m originally from Due West. Really! Many of my family members still live in the area. I currently live in nearby Greenwood and have for the majority of my life. I spent some time in Charleston while at the College of Charleston where I graduated with Bachelors of Science in Psychology and Business Administration, but I know that Due West will always be home. I took the nontraditional path to Admissions by working in banking and advertising initially but my real passion is connecting awesome people to incredible resources. As the Recruitment Coordinator, I’ll help you learn more about all the great opportunities available here at Erskine and how we can help you pursue whatever passion or calling you have in life. If I’m not in the office, just follow the sound of my laughter which is sure to be echoing somewhere around campus. Outside of work, you can catch me enjoying the world’s best pizza (Millhouse in Greenwood, of course!), reading a good book in the park, or just spending time with my wonderful husband and many other friends and family who fill my life with such joy. I can’t wait to meet you and help you determine if Erskine is indeed the perfect fit for you!
Hello! My name is Schadell Brooks, a 2013 graduate of Erskine College and one of your admissions counselors. I am from Belmont, NC, but recently moved back to Due West, SC, from the big city of Atlanta, GA. While I attended Erskine, I studied Business Administration and Music and was involved in a variety of student organizations from FCA to The Mirror to Choraleers. Outside of work, I love singing, traveling, and fellowshipping with friends and family. I cannot speak highly enough about my Erskine Experience and all the lessons I learned in and out of the classroom throughout my four years here. I look forward to sharing my story with you and helping you determine if Erskine is the right place for you!
