Hi guys! I am Tobé Frierson, a 2002 graduate of Erskine College. I am originally from Sumter, South Carolina, and I have been living in the upstate for almost 10 years now. This is a gorgeous part of South Carolina and Due West is the best small town in America. Attending Erskine College and now being able to serve in the Office of Admissions, has truly been a dream. At Erskine, you can receive a top-notch liberal arts education in a Christian environment. We are so excited that you are taking a closer look at us. When you get a chance to visit our campus, you will find me talking to our prospective students and their families about their opportunities at Erskine, attending our many cultural arts events and convocations, directing the Erskine College Gospel Choir, and cheering on our 14 varsity sports teams. I bleed maroon and gold. GO FLEET! I hope to see you on campus soon.
Hello! My name is Becky Bonser and I am an admissions counselor here at Erskine. I live in Due West after making the big move to the South from Cumberland, Maryland. I earned my Bachelor of Arts degrees in Communication Studies and Spanish from Frostburg State University and my Master of Arts in Communication Studies from West Chester University of Pennsylvania. While finishing my graduate degree, I worked in the career development center on campus and also at the local YMCA coaching youth soccer. Outside of work, I enjoy baking, sewing and spending time with family. I would love the opportunity to meet you and tell you more about the Christ-centered academic community we have at Erskine. It is truly a one-of-a-kind opportunity to become a student here. Let me help you get started!
Hey guys, my name is Shawn Glover. I’m a native of Columbia, SC and a 2011 graduate of Erskine College where I earned a major in Sports Management. As a student I participated with Erskine’s nationally ranked baseball team as well as many other extracurricular activities such as the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, The Judicial Council, and Erskine’s athletic department. My passion is to see students flourish in every walk of life which is my favorite part about being in Erskine’s Christ-centered community. I’m proud to return and serve my alma mater as an Admissions Counselor and a Resident Director. Come and visit us!
Trey McCurry is a graduate of Clemson University, where he received a bachelor’s degree in sports administration (2007) and a master’s degree in human resource development (2010). After serving as a student equipment manager for the football team and then a graduate assistant in sports information, Trey returned to his native Honea Path and joined the admissions staff as Guest Coordinator. Outside work, you can find Trey spending time with his family at sporting events, reading, and staying busy with small projects.
Hi! My name is Sarah Elizabeth, and I am one of your admissions counselors here at Erskine College. As a native of Georgia, I was drawn to the small-town atmosphere of Erskine and its natural beauty. I graduated from Toccoa Falls College in December of 2011 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Outdoor Leadership and Education. When I am not in the office I enjoy spending time outside, traveling, playing music, attending concerts, and fellowshipping with friends and family. I have a strong passion for young adults and helping students find a school where they can feel at home. My hope is that students see Erskine as a place where they may embark on a wonderful four-year journey in furthering their education.
Hey! I’m Tameika Wideman and I’m originally from Due West. Really! Many of my family members still live in the area. I currently live in nearby Greenwood and have for the majority of my life. I spent some time in Charleston while at the College of Charleston where I graduated with Bachelors of Science in Psychology and Business Administration, but I know that Due West will always be home. I took the nontraditional path to Admissions by working in banking and advertising initially but my real passion is connecting awesome people to incredible resources. As the Recruitment Coordinator, I’ll help you learn more about all the great opportunities available here at Erskine and how we can help you pursue whatever passion or calling you have in life. If I’m not in the office, just follow the sound of my laughter which is sure to be echoing somewhere around campus. Outside of work, you can catch me enjoying the world’s best pizza (Millhouse in Greenwood, of course!), reading a good book in the park, or just spending time with my wonderful husband and many other friends and family who fill my life with such joy. I can’t wait to meet you and help you determine if Erskine is indeed the perfect fit for you!
